Yuen Ching (Hesther) Ng (b. 1992), is a London-based Hong Kong photographer who graduated with a BA (Hon) in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London (UAL) in 2023.

Hesther has the vision to use photography as a medium to inform and educate people about important events and issues worldwide and make a positive impact on the world. Her passion for photography originates from her desire to document the world around her and to give a voice to those who might not have one and have not been seen. Her upbringing in different countries and comprehensive travelling experience have allowed her to develop a unique perspective on the world and strive to capture the essence of the people, cultures, and places she encounters in her photography. She believes that through her lens, she can bring attention to the human cost of conflicts, the impact of natural disasters, and the struggles of marginalised communities.

Hesther went to Ukraine multiple times during 2022 and 2023 at her own expense to witness firsthand the devastating effects of war on people's lives and the importance of accurate and compassionate reporting. Her work in Ukraine was selected for gallery exhibitions in the UK and internationally and published in a magazine from Hong Kong. She aspires to continue travelling to conflict zones and areas affected by humanitarian crises, to give a voice to those who are often forgotten or overlooked.

Hesther also practises as a freelance press photographer in London on top of her studying. She is devoted to using her skills as a journalist to tell compelling stories that capture the complexity and nuance of the world, including social justice issues, politics, and cultural events. Her works can be found regularly in various national and international media outlets such as The Guardian, Forbes, BBC, The Times, Metro, Yahoo! News, CNN, TIME, and the Wall Street Journal etc.

Apart from photography, Hesther is a qualified clinical pharmacist practising in London and an independent journalist from HK Feature.
